Six decades have come and gone since, as a 10 year old boy, I followed Mr. Claud Edwards to the alter at Rocky Ford and gave my life to Christ. Every Sunday Mr. Claud would walk the short distance from his pew to the alter and rededicate his life to Christ. Such a pious man, Mr. Claud led me to Christ in his quiet way. The next Sunday I waded into the cold water of the old mill stream below where my Grandfather had once lived to meet the Rev. Jimmy Towe in the middle of the stream where he would baptize me. Rocky Ford Church has remained a guiding light throughout my life since that day. Rocky Ford has been an inspiration since the first time I went with my parents to the old church beneath the mountain at the location of the old ford. I can still see that little white church in my mind as it was through the eyes of a little child so long ago, but it was to be within the new church, adjacent to our home, that I would come to Lord; He has never left my side since that time.
